Biography
Ray Lloyd began photography in high school working on the
yearbook staff. He performed the dual roles of principal design
editor and sports photographer.
During his college years, Ray took a break from photography to
earn a degree in Computer Science from the University of Memphis.
After spending four years establishing himself in Information
Technology, he began to slowly reconnect with his love of
photography. Most of the work consisted of landscape, architectural
and portraiture.
Starting with the introduction of the digital camera boom, Ray
began to freelance as a sports photographer around the Atlanta area.
Having been a life-long fan of boxing, Ray decided to master the
shooting of combat sports. He became the house photographer for the
KO Kings promotion. Soon after, he landed the opportunity of
promotion photographer for Extreme Fight Night MMA (mixed-martial
arts).
Ray branched out and began covering youth sports. He is the
photographer for the Georgia State Games. This year he did some of
his best work in the tennis, taekwondo and track and field events.
Never setting limits to his craft, he has covered other sports, from
soccer to football (including the Women's Professional Football
League Championship game).
Ray continues his journey, shooting both professional, amateur
and youth sporting events. Keep your eyes open for more to come in
the future. Thanks.
